My mom and my aunt are visiting from Texas. We have accomplished the daunting task of getting my mom to hike. She actually enjoyed it, too! I hope you are all having a fun holiday weekend. We sure are.

(Actually, as my MIL just reminded me via Facebook [Grrr], there was a different reason the bear was crying. She thought I was handing her a cupcake. Instead, we set fire to it, then thrust it into her face to really rub salt into the wound. These rituals are hard to comprehend at age 2. And she didn't even get a stomach cake!).

Everywhere I look, lilacs are blooming. I wish you could smell them.
